Fitness and conflict resolution are more closely aligned than you might think. As a fitness instructor, Marjorie Bremner encourages flexibility, balance and strength in her clients. The same values are incorporated into workplace mediation, calling on parties to think empathically, cooperatively and impartially. As such, Marjorie embeds positive culture into all aspects of her work.
Marjorie is an accredited Commercial and Workplace Mediator, HR Professional and Visiting Lecturer with over 30 years’ experience in mediation and conflict resolution, consultancy, employee relations, training, lecturing and mentoring.
In July 2018, Marjorie stepped down as HR Partner at BKL (Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisers) having worked for 20 years in HR with the Firm. Marjorie developed HR Consultancy services for clients and also set up and chaired the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and Well-Being Committee.
Marjorie has worked with global clients as well as small and medium-sized businesses.
She has particular experience in healthcare, professional services – accountancy and law and charities.
Marjorie is also a specialist Fitness Instructor for older adults and trained with the company, Move it or Lose it! Move it or Lose it is dedicated to improving the quality of life of older people in care homes and in the community and all exercise classes includes the components of flexibility, aerobics balance, and strength in accordance with medical guidelines.
Outside work, Marjorie enjoys family based activities, travel, current affairs, trekking, running and walking to marathon level, voluntary and charitable activities, youth mentoring, corporate social responsibility and sustainable business.
In 2012, Marjorie carried the Olympic torch in recognition of extensive voluntary work, community involvement and fundraising.
Her current voluntary activities include being a volunteer with Samaritans, a Telephone Support Volunteer for Age UK and providing exercise classes for a care home.
