Synergy, Collaboration & Common Purpose

TCM Collaborative Team Work

Seeing synergy in action is inspiring.  Think of footballers playing with great flow in a high performance team, the performance achieved by dancers in a ballet, or musicians performing in a band.  In each case their skills have been honed so each individual collaborates, providing their own contribution to achieve the highest value.  The result is that their energy and focus is directed towards a shared goal.   Each person can play their part to maximum effect, supported and in-sync with others.

TCM have identified 6 factors that enable effective team collaboration and synergy.

  • Inter-team communication styles
  • Collaborative processes
  • Team culture and values
  • Monitoring and review for collaborative team work
  • Stakeholder expectations

Team synergy is what creates more significant results than the sum of its parts.  TCM supports teams that are new as they are forming and those that are well established.  This can build on success of a team performing well to maintain, promote and enhance collaboration.  TCM also works with teams that are looking to overcome blockers to collaboration and take their team work to a higher level.  We tailor a well practised approach to each of our team collaboration workshops and work with clients ensure team facilitation workshops achieve their outcomes and these are embedded to create and enhance synergy for the long term.

The benefits to teams from the TCM collaborative team work programme are that they are able to:

  • Identify the potential for synergy that exists in their teams and the current levels at the start.
  • Understand obstacles to collaboration in the team
  • Be aware different team members’ styles of working, strengths and blind spots
  • Embed a strong spirit of team work and commitment to shared goals and common purpose
  • Create a team culture charter setting out the team values and behaviours that underpin these and those which are misaligned
  • Review roles and processes where collaboration can be improved through a programme of knowledge sharing, sequencing and mutual support
